In USA several programs for single mother and married and children for all age and all situations. http://www.cwla.org/. gives so many opportunities to support mothers and children in any case. In Germany we have also many offers for single mothers but not with such a great volume.
I looked about the definitions according to children welfare and children abuse and neclegt.The major objects are similar to germany and to meet this demands is important but also difficult. The most single mothers are good mothers but the demands are so many and to care about all things in life is really a heavy thing.Not only to earn money but also to take care of children, to take care of children health, to take care on flat etc.,it is difficult.Sometimes it is good to have such as cwla, but to be independet is a good aim.
In a study of National Institutes for Child Health and Human Development and the William T.Grant Foundation. they came to the conclusions that major reasons for single mother not to work are the health status.The most important things is to be healthy also the child otherwise the costs are so high and the time are so low, that you can´t work or you will loose the work. Other reasons are the low wages, ,no working experiences,problem in the family and care for children.
Also in USA the single mothers have the same problems like in Germany, if you are not employed , if you have little children or even not healthy children you have to live from welfare and this is not equal to others.
Welfare for children includes not only a material supply but also an equal existence to others. Welfare can and is helping, and single mothers have often no choose, and it is better to help the children with welfare than to do nothing, although to live from welfare is a small part of not children welfare because they are not equal to others, the starting situation is not equal and very difficult.
